How to
Package Desserts
INTRODUCTION

Food packaging is an
integral component of food
industry that helps to store
desserts and enhance its
freshness and quality.
Packaging is very
important because it
directly affect the shelf
life of desserts.
A GOOD PACKAGE SHOULD
PERFORM THE FOLLOWING
FUNCTIONS:

⮚ Provide a barrier
against dirt and other contaminants
thus keeping the product clean.
⮚ Prevent Losses -
For example,
package should be securely
closed to prevent leakage

➢Protect food against


physical and chemical
damage
⮚ Package design
should provide protection
and convenience in handling
and transport during
distribution
and marketing.
OBJECTIVE:

At the end of the lesson the trainee

materials and demonstrate how
to make packaging for desserts.

Cutter Scissor
Ruler Pencil

STEPS AND PROCEDURE IN
MAKING PACKAGING
STEP 1:
Measure and
cut the folder
in 17.5 x
12.5 inches
size
STEP 2:
For the lenght of the box, measure
1.75 inches, 9inches and another 1.75
inches.
STEP 3:
Mark on 1.75inches, 6inches,1.75
inches,another 6.1 inches for the cover
then 1.75 for the flip of the cover.
STEP 4:
On the lower part of the
board, get the center of
the small square (both
sides) and connect it
with the upper corner
of the rectangle.
STEP 5:
Do the same
measuring for the
square in the middle,
get the center and
connect it to the lower
part of the rectangle.
STEP 6:
FOR THECOVER:
Measure 1.5 inches
for the upper part
and 1inch for the
bottom and connect
it to the lower part of
the rectangle.
STEP 7:
FOR THE WINDOW:
Mark 1inch from the top, bottom and
both side of the rectangle.
STEP 8:
Score and fold all the lines and cut
the unnecessary portions
STEP 9:
Cut the unnecessary portions
STEP 10:
Cut the window, and put the double
sided tape for the acetate film
STEP 11:
Measure 4.5 inches on the right and left
side of the board cut it for the insertion
of lock.
STEP 12:
The box is ready, assemble the
berry tart inside the box
STEP 13:
Tie it up with ribbon, put your business
logo and the best before seal.
STEP 14:
Store it in the chiller until the
last possible moment or until
required.
