DAILY LESSON PLAN

ORAL COMMUNICATION

FIRST DAY

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Define Communication
2. Explains the nature and process of communication.

II. CONTENTS
Topic : Communication
Reference: Oral Communication by Jesus Z. Menoy and Guia F. Constantino
Materials: Chalkboard, TV, Laptop, Power Point Presentation

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review Past Lesson
B. Motivation
Form 4 groups each group will form a straight line have a leader to listen to what the instructor is going to say. The message will
be whispered to the first member in line and pass to the succeeding member until it reaches the last member. The last member will
recite the message and check if it was the original message.
C. Presentation of the Lesson
 Teacher will define communication
 Teacher will communication components
D. Development of the Lesson
 Teacher will discuss the communication process
E. Application
 Teacher will give scenarios/ simulation and ask for class volunteers to further explain the lesson and for students to have
a better visual understanding.
F. Generalization
 Communication it is a process of exchanging information, ideas, thoughts, feelings and emotions through
speech, signals, writing and behaviour. It is also a process of sending and reviewing messages to share meanings.

IV. EVALUATION

 Role-playing
Divide Students into 4 groups – Each group will create a scenario to have a message reached to someone and explain how the
process was done.
Rubrics: 10 points
Clarity : 4 points Realistic : 2 points
Effectively : 3 points

FOURTH DAY

You cannot tip in Japan

feel the person is beneath you.
Don't talk with your hands in your pockets in Germany.
It's considered rude. It's also customary to keep your hands on the table while eating, rather than resting them in
your lap.

Ask if there are students form different provinces or cultures and what things are against their beliefs, and
how they adjust in staying here.

 Teachers will discuss the topics should not be discussed in situations, example in jobs: Topics that
should be avoided are politics, religions and discrimination of anything.
E. Application
 The teacher will group the students into 5 (five). Each group will assign a member to explain 1
(one) socio-cultural factor and how this factor affects communication
F. Generalization
 The intercultural communication refers to the effective communication between
people/workers/clients of different cultural background. It also includes managing thought patterns and
non verbal communication.

IV. EVALUATION
 The teacher will ask the learners to identify and explain the factors that affects communication in
5 (five) sentences using the given picture.
