FIRST DAY
I. OBJECTIVES
Content Standard:
The learner values the functions/purposes of oral communication..
Performance Standard:
The learner writes a 250-word essay of his/ her objective observation and evaluation of the various
speakers watched and listened to.
Learning Competencies:
Identifies strategies used by each speaker to convey his/her ideas effectively.

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review Past Lesson
The teacher will ask the students about the examples of oral texts and their meanings.
B. Motivation
The teacher will ask the students to watch different video clips showing different kinds of public speaking
scenarios. Then, they have to answer the process questions.
C. Presentation of the Lesson
The students will have brainstorming activity about the strategies used by the speakers watched.
D. Development of the Lesson
The teacher will ask the students to explain their ideas on the particular strategy they had chosen by citing
examples.
E. Application
Ask, “Why is it important for the speakers to use an appropriate strategy in speaking?”
F. Generalization
The teacher will share her leaning for the day’s discussion.
IV. EVALUATION
Group Activity:
The teacher will ask the students to prepare a role play showing the strategy they have discussed earlier.
SECOND DAY

B. Motivation
The teacher will present four (4) fast food commercials (Jollibee, Mc Donald, Chowking and KFC) and let
the students choose only one fast food chain.
Followed by Process questions.
C. Presentation of the Lesson
The teacher will use a PowerPoint Presentation to discuss the values and functions/purposes of oral
communication..
D. Development of the Lesson
Watching a video of a short clip of Presidential debate 2016.
The teacher will ask the students to dissect the video clip using the given guide questions.
E. Application
Ask, “How do people’s words affect the decision of others?”
F. Generalization
The teacher will Summarize the day’s discussion.
IV. EVALUATION
Individual activity:
Write a 250 word essay about the evaluation of which form of advertisement that conveys the most effective way of oral
communication.

THIRD DAY
I. OBJECTIVES
Content Standard:
The learner recognizes that communicative competence requires understanding of speech context, speech style,
speech act and communicative strategy.
Performance Standard:
The learner demonstrates effective use of communicative strategy in a variety of speech situations.
Learning Competencies:
Identifies the various types of speech context

DAILY LESSON PLAN
ORAL COMMUNICATION
Motive Question
o What have you observed on the video clips presented a while ago?
o How do they differ from one another?
B. Motivation
C. Presentation of the Lesson
The teacher will present different types of speech contexts.
D. Development of the Lesson
The teacher will ask the students to group into 3 and brainstorm about the types of speech context.
The students will be given three (3) minutes to brainstorm, afterwards, the leader of each group will present they
shared thoughts
While the students are presenting the teacher will elaborate the definitions of the different types of speech
contexts.
E. Application
The class will stay with their respective groupings.
Each group will be given different tasks:
Group 1 – Intrapersonal
Group 2 – Interpersonal
Group 3 – Public Communication
Each group will be given 10 minutes to prepare and 5 minutes for the presentation. The students will be graded
according to the following criteria:
Presentation: 15 points
Understanding of the Topic: 10 points
Audience Impact: 10 points
F. Generalization
The teacher will Summarize the day’s discussion.
IV. EVALUATION
Each group will assign a representative to explain their assigned topic and how they understand it.

FOURTH DAY
I. OBJECTIVES

Exhibits appropriate verbal and non-verbal behavior in a given speech context
