Family travel to Shanghai

Shanghai is known as the cultural and economic center of East Asia and is

often regarded as the most modern city in China. In addition, it is one of the

biggest city in the country, Shanghai is known for skyscrapers and contemporary

lifestyle in heart of a booming economy. The city is a perfect blend of modern

architectural marvels and historic buildings. Aside from being a financial hub,

the city is also home to massive departmental stores that sell everything from

luxury fashion to high-end electronics. Some of the popular destinations include

waterfront The Bund, Yu Garden, and the spectacular Oriental Pearl TV Tower.

If you want to go in China. Yuyuan is the most revered and the only surviving

Ming Dynasty garden in Shanghai. It has become a city highlight due to its beautiful

scenery, characterized by decorated bridges, colorful pagodas and intimate enclaves

separated by "dragon walls" - partitions with dragon decorations on top.

Shanghai Is China's Largest City and Its Modern Showcase. Shanghai is a

window looking out on modern China. Due to the incomparable geographical

advantages, Shanghai has grown from a little town to the world’s largest city proper

in the past century or so, as well as becoming the largest center of commerce and

finance in Mainland China.

high demand for living standards, the consumption of urban life and tourism has

become more and more expensive.


STORY ANALYSIS

TITLE: “Servant Girl”

AUTHOR: Estrella D. Alfon

Estrella D. Alfon was born in 1917 in Cebu City. She did not come from the
elite like other writers of her time. Her parents were Cebu shopkeepers. She went
to college and majored in medicine. She was a well-known Filipina author who
mostly wrote in English.

Rosa's story and her experiences as a maid under someone who abuses her
are told in Estrella Alfon's work. It depicts her emotional rollercoaster, from crying
to the delight of having a 'Angel,' before returning to the state of mind of who she
is and what she is doing.

Estrella Alfon was able to express Rosa's desperation to experience


happiness. The hallucinations and thoughts she was having was an easy way for
her to escape away from the difficulties she faced on a daily basis. However, at the
conclusion of Estrella's story, it is revealed that her imagination carried her to a
location in her head that did not exist.
