CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
3. REGULATIONS
1. Design procedure
Design of a RC structure
includes 3 stages :
S1: Calculation
S2: Detailing
S3: Drawings
UNIT 2: PRINCIPLES OF CALCULATION
AND DESIGN
1.1 Calculation
B1. Setup schematic diagram and structural diagram of the RC structures
Convert the real structure into the schematic form
B2. Determine loads and actions
Determine the loads and actions impact on the frame structure
Load combination factors (Difference between Design standards)
B3. Determine internal forces using pattern tables or computer programs
B4. Setup combinations of internal forces
B5. Calculate the required reinforcement
UNIT 2: PRINCIPLES OF CALCULATION
AND DESIGN
1.2 Detailing
B1. Reinforcement detailing
Assure the co-working of C-S
Assure the possible construction condition
B2. Detailing of Frame Junction and Support
Assure the safety of materials in the Frame Junction
Assure the detailing of reinforcement suitable with the model of the
support
B3. Solutions for bad-action resistance: corrosion , rusting ...
B4. Construction detailing: constructive reinforcement, construction joints,
expansion joints, thermal joints, settlement joints...
UNIT 2: PRINCIPLES OF CALCULATION
AND DESIGN
