What role does the government play?

According to Esports.net, Government Support for the esports industry is ‘Vital’ for ensuring the continued growth of
esports. This is due to both legal reasoning and recognition. If a government recognises a esports team that in turn
means that esports has grown big enough for the government to get involved within the esports space. For legal
reasons the government could recognise an esport player as a professional athlete and then would therefore ease
clarification of legal issues, most notably the issue of not a work visa, without a work visa, it is illegal for a player to
enter international tournaments.
