Procedure & Recommendations

TENTATIVE PROCEDURE FOR 7”liner CEMENT JOB

1- Hold a Pre-Job Toolbox and safety meeting.

2- Circulate for 2 cycles of Mud with YP<10 pphf.

3- Rotate the Liner during the entire job at 10-15 RPM and Up to Maximum torque.

(Limits to be decided by Liner Engineer)

4- Pressure test surface lines to 4,000psi.

5- Pump 20 bbl of PREFLUSH 1 @ 6bpm

6- Pump 30 bbl of PREFLUSH 2 @ 6bpm.

7- Pump 50 bbl of SPACER (13 ppg) @6bpm.

8- Prepare 60 bbl of Cement Slurry in Batch Mixer as per Lab Report.

9- Batch mix and pump 60 bbl of (15.8 ppg) cement slurry @ 5 bpm.

10- Drop Wiper Plug and displace the cement by +/-147.86 bbl of mud as per the following rate:

 Pump 100 bbl @ 7 bpm

 Pump 10.82 bbl @ 2 bpm (watch for pressure spike)
 Pump 32 bbl @ 7 bpm
 Pump 5.04 bbl @ 2 bpm

ALL FLUIDS CALCULATIONS HAS TO BE RE-CALCULATED AND CONFIRMED ON LOCATION

WITH THE COMPANY- MAN AS PER FINAL CASING TALLY

11- If the Plug Bumps then the Pressure up to +/- 500 psi above differential. (As per KOC Policy) bleed of
the pressure and check return.

12- If the plug does not pump make sure that no extra volume is pumped, it is not recommended to pump
half the shoe track volume only exact displacement volume to be pumped.

13- If floats hold and no back flow observed, remove cement head and WOC.

14- If the floats doesn’t hold (or) Back flow observed, then close the valves on the Cement head.

15- Set the packer as per the Liner Engineer instructions.

16- POH and reverse out the excess cement.

17- The Liner has to be rotated during the entire job.

18- WOC for 24Hrs.

19- Keep the cement sample in water bath with downhole temperature, and check when it set

RECOMMENDATIONS

1- Condition the Mud prior to the cement job and reduce the YP of mud less than10 (pphfs).

2- This Program is tentative, however any changes likely to take place has to b e revised in th e proposal
accordingly.

3- Actual displacement volume must be c alculated and agreed upon by the com pany man a nd the
NAPESCO supervisor prior to the job and actual well data and casing tally.

4- NAPESCO supervisor should collect samples of blend cement and mix fluid.

5- Minimize shut down time when releasing liner dart

6- Minimum 70% stand-off has to be ensured for good cement bond behind the casing.

7- Slow down the rate during plug latching. ( Supervisor to calculate the exact volume as per the Actual tally)

8- Follow the mixing order, ensure Batch mixers are clean & check salinity of water prior to mixing.

9- Displacement has to be carried out by NAPESCO cementing unit with mentioned rates.

10- Contact KOC office if we encounter total losses prior to the job.

11- Rotate the Liner during the entire job.

12- Make sure the mixing order and the lot numbers are used as per the Lab Report.

13- 16 ppg as Frac Point & 9.5 ppg as Pore Point have been considered on Simulator.

14- During reverse wash ensure that mud channel & dumping valve are free from any obstruction or clogging.

15- Quality of cement bond, being critical & crucial, should be taken after 60 -72 Hrs. This will remove any
ambiguity or doubt on isolation of water zone below and between the zones.

wettability reversal. Pump 20 bbls diesel and 30 bbls of 5% KCl water as pre flush and 50
bbls of 13 ppg spacer.
2. Batch mix and pump 60 bbls of 15.8 ppg cement slurry at 6 BPM.
3. Displace the cement with 147.86 bbls of 12.6 ppg mud. Displace at 10-12 BPM.
(Recalculate the Displacement volumes before the Job based on actualy tally) Check for
back flow.
TAKE ACTUAL MIX WATER - CEMENT SAMPLE & SEND IT TO LAB TEST
FOR VERIFICATION.
Displacement volume to be measured, as per stroke as well as actual volume pumped
by cementing unit.
4. Bump plug 1000 psi over Displacement pressure.
5. DO NOT OVER DISPLACE IF PLUG DOES NOT BUMP.
6. Check for back flow. If well static & floats OK, continue:
1) Set Liner Top Packer.
2) Reverse circulate excess cement from the top of liner.
3) POOH with setting tool
