Volunteering

Organisation
 Charitable Organisations
 Community Groups
 Emergency Services Groups

Charitable Organisations: Charities bring together people who care about

a cause so that they can make a difference. Whatever it is that you care about, there will
be a charity working on it. Charities help in lots of different ways, but the main ways
are by providing direct help, giving information, or raising awareness of an issue.

Community Groups: A community group brings the community together

and is a place where people do productive activities, help others, and provide support
for others. This is a community in which people help each other out and is an amazing
experience of kindness.

Emergency Services Group: The emergency services are the public

organizations whose job is to take quick action to deal with emergencies when they occur,
especially the fire brigade, the police, and the ambulance service.

Charitable Organisations, Community Groups, Emergency Services. These are ALL

Organisations which contain volunteers, Volunteers are not paid in return they help the
community for free! Though some people of the topics which were listed above have
paid workers and volunteers. In fact, did you know Sri Lanka has the most volunteers
in the world?!
