1) LESSON NARRATIVE

a) Provide the content area or grade level for which the lesson is designed

i) The content area is Language Arts, and the lesson is designed for the 3rd grade level.

b) Describe the topic surrounding the lesson

i) To Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage

when writing or speaking

c) List the essential questions and enduring understandings

i) What are Nouns?

ii) For what are Nouns used?

iii) What are Pronouns?

iv) For what are Pronouns used?

v) How would you use Nouns and/or Pronouns in a sentence?

d) List the lesson objectives and standards

i) Demonstrate beginning cursive writing skills.

ii) Explain the function of nouns, pronouns, and their functions in particular sentences.

iii) Form and use regular and irregular plural nouns.

iv) Use abstract nouns (e.g., childhood, friendship, courage).(site:

e) Describe how you would flip the lesson

i) Recording the lesson Live or pre-record the lesson

f) Describe any materials in addition to your video you would need to flip the lesson

g) Identify any prior knowledge or experiences students may need before engaging in the

flipped lesson

i) Must be able to read

ii) Make the difference between objects, animals, people, and places

h) Identify the benefits afforded to the students and the teacher by using the flipped

classroom model for this lesson

i) For live recording of the lecture, the benefit is that if the student did not get a full

understanding of the lesson because it was too fast or they missed something, they

can go back and review the lesson and in addition, the student is able to better prepare

themselves for evaluation. Also, if a student completely missed the class or lesson,

they could view it on the video and keep up with the rest of the class.

ii) Pre-recorded allows the students to get themselves ready for the lesson and come to

class ready with questions to dive deeper into the lesson and et a better understanding

of the subject/lesson.

2) Identify the challenges the students and the teacher may face when implementing this flipped

lesson.

a) Technological challenges in recording the videos

b) Lack of technology for students to view the contents

c) Difficulties in distributing or publishing content

d) Teachers may find it difficult to control students who think they do not need to pay

attention during class knowing that they will be able to see the videos later

e) Dependency on parents for viewing of video contents.

3) Reflect on what you would do as a Plan B to ensure students learned the content if the flipped

method were not successful

a) Use the old fashion way of teaching in front of the class, lecture, demonstration,

illustration.
