A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Physical Education 7

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to do the following:

a. Identify the common injuries in engaging in the different dual sports.


b. List some injury preventions in playing dual sports.
c. Show interest in learning the different injury preventions in playing
dual sports.

II. Subject Matter/Content


a. Topic: Injury Prevention in Dual Sports
b. Materials: Visual aids
c. Reference: Physical Education and Health 7 Teacher’s Guide
p. 117-119

III. Procedure

Motivation:
The teacher will show some pictures of injured players in playing
different dual sports. The teacher will let the students observe and
analyze the pictures presented.

A. Activating Prior Knowledge


From the pictures, the teacher will now ask the students:
1. What have you observed in the pictures?
2. What do you think are the reasons on why they are injured?
3. What should we do to prevent these things to happen?
From these questions, the teacher will now introduce the lesson.

B. Acquiring New Knowledge


The teacher will now present the lesson to the class. She will
discuss the common injuries that can take place in playing Badminton,
Table Tennis, and Tennis. She will also present different preventions or
risk management procedures in playing dual sports. In this manner,
the learners will learn new things when it comes to prevention of
injuries in playing sports.

C. Application
Activity #1
The teacher will group the class into 5. The teacher will let the
students brainstorm ideas and statements on how to prevent different
injuries while playing dual sports (badminton, table tennis, and tennis).

D. Assessment
With a given sheet of paper, each group will write their ideas and
statements in relation on how they can prevent injuries in playing dual
sports.

IV. Evaluation
With the statements they have made, each group will choose a
representative/s to present and discuss their work in a creative way. Each
group will be graded base on the rubric below.

Teamwork 10 points
TOTAL 30 points

V. Assignment
Read and study all the lessons discussed for the 2 nd Quarter in Physical
Education. This is a preparation for the Unit Test.
