as honey.

B. Motivation example: I have waited hundred years
for my classmate to arrive.
Very Good! It seems that you already have
understood the previous lesson, today before we go
on to our new lesson, I have prepared something for
you, what do you notice on these pictures in front of
you?

They are dancing ballroom.

She is eating.

He is playing soccer.
You are beautiful.

They are pronouns.

I am happy today.
They are substitute of nouns

What do you notice about the underlined words?

What are pronouns?

Very good!

C. Presentation of the lesson

The pronouns you have noticed are representing a

perspective. This perspective is what we are going to
study today.

But before we go on to our lesson, let me tell you our

objectives for today

 know what is point of view;

 understand the different types of point of
views
 compose phrases that uses the different types Yes!
of point of views.
Did you get our objectives for today?

So, let us start on our new lesson,

Point of view
-the perspective from which a piece of text is written.
-is the angle from which the story is told. Who is
telling a story, who is narrating it?

We have three point of views

 1st Person point of view

-it was told by a character in the story, this character
reveals only personal thoughts and feelings of what
he or she sees.
Uses the pronouns I, me, or we.
The main character is telling the story.
Advantage: Reader is inside the main characters head
and can tell what he she is thinking or feeling.
Disadvantage: Reader may not be able to tell what
other characters are thinking or feeling

For example:

I knew that today was my luckiest day. We are all happy playing basketball.
I woke up this morning feeling terrific.
I couldn’t believe what my eyes saw.
Can you give your own examples too?

Very good!

 2nd Person point of view

-The narrator will try to address the reader.
-Uses the pronouns you, your, yours.
-The author talks directly to the reader.
Most appropriate for email, presentations, business
and technical writing.

For example, is when your teacher addresses the

entire class, he / she is using 2nd person point of view.
Example:

You were all great for today’s performance. You guys are great!

All your grades will be posted this afternoon. Your acting skills are cool!

Can you give you examples too?

Very good!

 3rd person point of view

-The narrator is not part of the story

- Uses the pronouns he, she it and they or personal
names. etc. The story is told without describing any
characters thought opinions or feelings. Think of this
as seeing what camera can see, A camera can not see
what is going on inside someone’s mind.
- Traditionally used for academic writing.

For example:
Maricar walks her dog every day in
He jumps out of bed early in the morning. the park.
She was helping in doing household chores. He and his friends were playing
basketball.
Can you give you own examples?
Yes teacher!

Very good class! did you understand our lesson for
