CALA Title: Applying for a form one place
*background*

Several school learners who have just accomplished
their primary school level are finding it difficult to get a
good boarding school place for form one since they are
unable to correctly write an application letter. There is
need for grade 7 learners to prior know how to write
an application letter so that they will be enrolled in
boarding schools which offer exceptional academic
studies that may positively transform their lives for
good, in future.

PART A

Define the term "boarding school"

A boarding school is an institution where children live within premises while being
given formal instruction. The word "boarding" is used in the sense of "room and
board", i.e., lodging and meals. As they have existed for many centuries, and now
extend across many countries, their function and ethos vary greatly.

2. Knowstics Girls High:

At Knowstics the children are not allowed phone, tablets, laptops and smart watches
therefore you are not allowed to bring food or else you will be suspended or kicked
away from school. You are also not allowed to bring irons to school and at Knowstics
Girls High they do lots of projects and they also do productions.

3. Peterhouse Girls:
No set of Standing Orders can possibly cover all eventualities. Every Peterhouse pupil is
expected to show common sense and to always behave with proper consideration for
other people. Pupils are therefore expected to observe the common courtesies of
greeting other people appropriately and to behave in a considerate and civilised
manner. The HMPHG reserves the right to amend these Standing Orders as necessary
and to discipline pupils whose behaviour is contrary to the letter/spirit of these Standing
Orders; this may lead to a decision "to expel, or to request the removal of, a pupil for
any cause judged by her to be sufficient" (the Declaration signed by parents of a pupil on
admission to Peterhouse). Serious cases of bullying, theft, or of a pupil being found in
possession of alcohol, tobacco or drugs are always referred to the Rector. The likely
outcome of breaches of this nature is permanent exclusion from Peterhouse.

4. Falcon College:
As Houses compete in a range of activities such as singing drama, and the full range of
sports. The Lower Sixth students are generally involved in the organisation of these inter-
house competitions, thus assisting the Upper Sixth. This also gives them the training in
organisation, assuming responsibility and being leaders. All these skills are needed when
they become members of the Upper Sixth.
5. Arundel School:
Arundel School offers both weekly and full boarding facilities to students.
The spacious accommodation is meant to provide a home away from
home for the girls. The boarders are provided with a secure, nurturing and
comfortable environment in which they learn and acquire independence,
tolerance and graciousness.

6. Chisipite Senior School:

Chisipite Senior School offers a rich, well rounded education programme that reflects our deeply
held belief that all pupils have special gifts, talents and needs. Our commitment as educators is
to bring out these gifts in each one of our pupils; to help each pupil find their own voice. We are
proud of our diverse student population, and honour the identity of every girl, acknowledging
that their story contributes to our shared identity. With an in-depth knowledge of how pupils
learn best, Chisipite Senior School is dedicated to nurturing a love of learning and providing an
enjoyable environment for pupils to adopt an intelligent and critical mindset regardless of their
year level.
