online teaching and learning process during the covid

19 pandemic
Indonesia's government policy is to avoid the spread of COVID-19 by the suspension of
classrooms, without stopping teaching, so the schools can work at a distance. But there are
some schools in each area that are not equipped with online learning systems, where
learning media such as phones, laptops, or computers is needed.
There are problems not only in the learning media system but in terms of quotas that cost
high enough to students and teachers to facilitate the needs of online learning.
Online learning cannot fall off the Internet. Internet connection is one of the problems
students face. It is also a problem for students who follow online studies to be less than
optimal at best.
We have to realized that the lack of preparation of teachers and students for e-learning is
also an issue. The face-to-face learning system of the online system is very suddenly, with
no proper preparation. But all of this must be done in order for the learning process to go
smoothly and for active students to follow even through the COVID-19 pandemic.
These online learning are not as effective as face-to-face learning activities, because some
materials must be explained directly and more fully. Moreover, the material presented
online may not be available to all students.
Most elements of the Indonesian e-learning process need to be improved. Above all, stable
Internet networks, then sophisticated computers and effective online socialization.

Therefore, teachers must be able to design efficient online learning, using appropriate
online tools or media.

The easiest thing a teacher can do based on the whatsapp group. The WhatsApp app is
suitable for online novice students because the operation is very simple and easy to access
for students. Could also use media learning apps like Google Classroom, Google Meet or
Zoom.

But it must be considered according to the needs of teachers and students, respect for the
material, the limits of the infrastructure of devices such as networks. It would be ineffective
if the teacher teaches using the zoom metting app but the network or signal on the
student's territory remains ungood.

As such, online learning is an effective home learning solution to break the chain of COVID-
19, while maintaining a safe distance. Good cooperation among teachers, students, parents,
and the school must be the key to improving and improving online learning.
May the covid-19 pandemic pass quickly as new normal has been imposed by the
government. So that learning is realized as originally by the presence of teachers and
students who interact directly with each other.
