After a great walk youll find that many stay around to sightsee, explore or enjoy refreshments! Simply turn up on the day. University Challenge Tuesday 19th July 7 miles Meet at the Grimston Bar Park and Ride office, Hull Road, Dunnington, YO19 5LA at 10.30am. Bring lunch. Park to Palace Saturday 13th August 6 miles Meet at Rowntree Park, Terry Avenue, York, YO23 1JQ at 10.00am. Bring Lunch Castle Howard Friday 23rd September 4.5 miles Meet at Castle Howard Obelisk, Castle Howard, York YO60 7DA at 12.15pm. Bring Lunch Scoreby Scramble Wednesday 14th September 7.5 miles Meet at Gate Helmsley bus stop (First no.10) on the A166 at 10.30am. Bring Lunch

Which walk is right for me?


Walks range from 30 minutes to 2 hours. The heart symbols tell you the duration of each walk. If youre new to walking start on shorter walks then build up your fitness. = = = short walk 30 to 45mins medium walk 45mins to 1hr 15mins longer walk 1hr 15mins to 2hrs

How do I take part?


Select which walk you want to attend and dress appropriately for the weather. Simply turn up at the meeting point and a walk leader will welcome you with a smile. Then off you go!

Health Walkies
Enjoy a group walk with a furry companion from the RPSCA Animal Centre Get active and healthy while the dogs get a long enjoyable walk too. Happy tails all round! Mondays at 11.15am or 12.30pm Walks last 1 hour with a dog of your choice from the centre. Meet at RSPCA Animal Centre, Landing Lane, York, YO26 4RH. You must have an induction before you can attend these walks. Please contact Fiona Barker (see back page) for more information.

Nordic Walking
The new craze hitting York Nordic Walking enhances ordinary walking it makes something we can all do twice as effective! Nordic Walking uses poles to give you two additional benefits Your upper body muscles get a work out as well as your legs Youll work harder than ordinary walking, but the support from the poles makes it feel easier! First take a course Contact Fiona Barker (see back page) for details of courses running in York. Then join a group The following groups meet every week. Once youve done a course simply turn up to some (or why not all!) of the walks? Wednesday, Hull Road Park, 2pm 3pm Friday, Rowntree Park, 10.00am 11.00am Friday, West Bank Park, 2.15pm 3.15pm
