1. Pre-Cleaning
Step1 – Clean insertion tube

Do pre-cleaning as soon
as finishing the exam.

Wipe the insertion tube with a detergent dampened lint-free cloth after
withdrawing the endoscope from the patient's body.

52
1. Pre-Cleaning
Step2 – Flush suction channel

Press suction valve

Enzyme solution

Suck water and air alternately, until the water and air could be seen
go into the suction bottle. Suck detergent for 30s, suck air for 10s,
repeat at least 3 times

53
1. Pre-Cleaning
Step3 – Flush air/water channel and nozzle

Press Block

Press A/W valve to feed water for 10-15s;

Block A/W valve air hole to feed air for 10-15s;
Feed air and water alternately at least 3 times.

Flush air into auxiliary water feeding port;
Repeat feeding water and air at least 3 times

55
1. Pre-Cleaning
Step5 – Shut down the light source and processor

Shut down

HD-500, HD-550, VLS-50 and HDL-500X support endoscope

hot plugging, could shut down after the last exam of the day.

56
1. Pre-Cleaning
Step6 – Take down the accessories

Take down air/water, suction and biopsy valve then

immerse them in detergent solution.

57
1. Pre-Cleaning
Step7 – Unplug all connectors and tubes

Remove suction

Unplug water bottle connector

58
1. Pre-Cleaning
Step8 – Put on waterproof cap

Put on waterproof cap;

Unplug the scope from the light source;
Move the scope to CDS room to do further cleaning.

59
1. Pre-Cleaning

Caution!

The light guide will be very hot after using, do not touch
as soon as unplugging from light source.

60
2. Leakage Test

Leakage test theory

The area between the blue border and the green tube is
the air inflating space while doing leakage test.

61
2. Leakage Test

Dry test

The bending rubber will be expanded

after being inflated. It is normal.

Put the endoscope on the table, connect leakage detector and add
pressure to 22Kpa(180mmHg);
Maintain the air pressure for 3 mins, if the pointer does not decrease
continually, the test is pass.

62
2. Leakage Test

Wet test

Caution: Do not put the leakage detector into water

Immerse the scope which already add pressure into the water for 3 mins;
Turn the U/D and L/R knobs to adjust the angle of bending section;
If there are bubbles coming out, the leakage test is fail.

63
2. Leakage Test

Wet test

Take out the scope from the water, open the vent valve of the detector to release the
pressure until the pointer goes back to zero;
Disconnect the leakage detector from the waterproof cap.

64
2. Leakage Test

Caution!

Do dry test before wet test, make sure there are no serious leakage,
otherwise the water will flow into the scope to cause further damage;
If the wet test is failed, stop doing CDS, otherwise it will cause further
damage;

65
3. Manual Cleaning

Caution:
Do not make too
much foam of the
detergent solution

1. Immerse the endoscope into detergent solution(Enzyme cleaning fluid)

2. Wipe the outer surface of the endoscope.

66
3. Manual Cleaning

3. Brush the suction channel from suction valve cylinder to distal end.
4. Repeat several times until there are no residue on the brush head

67
3. Manual Cleaning

5. Brush the suction channel from the suction valve cylinder to the suction port;
6. Brush the instrument channel from the instrument channel port to the distal end.
7. Repeat several times until there are no residue on the brush head

68
3. Manual Cleaning

8. Brush the suction port, instrument channel port, air water valve cylinder
and suction valve cylinder.
9. Brush the air/water valve, suction valve and biopsy valve.

Hospital could connect the auto cleaning

machine after this step
69
3. Manual Cleaning

10. Connect the channel plug and injection tube to the endoscope, inject
detergent solution into the suction and A/W channel until no bubbles
comes out of the distal end.

70
3. Manual Cleaning

Caution: Change enzyme solution for each scope

11. Disconnect the channel plug and injection tube, immerse the endoscope
in the detergent solution.
12. Wipe the outer surface and all the ports with a lint-free cloth

71
4. Rinsing

3. Connect channel plug and injection tube, inject filtered water into the
A/W and suction channel.
4. Inject air to A/W and suction channel to drain the water.

73
4. Rinsing

Wipe dry the endoscope, otherwise the remaining water

will decrease the concentration of the disinfectant

5. Take the endoscope and accessories out of the rinsing tank.

6. Wipe dry the outer surface and accessories of the endoscope with a lint-free cloth

74
5. Disinfection

1. Completely immerse the endoscope and accessories into the disinfectant solution.
2. Connect channel plug and injection tube, inject disinfectant solution into the A/W
and suction channel until no bubbles comes out of the distal end.

Air feeding: over 800ml/min

1. Feeding water inclining 45°, confirm the water jet out of the nozzle as a
straight line and cover the entire objective lens.
2. Feeding air, confirm the objective lens could be blow dry within the
required time.

Blow dry time: 10s; Total length colonoscope 15s (Air pump set to H level)
320/330 series have no blow dry time limit.

Suction function check

Cover the instrument channel

valve and auxiliary water feeding
cap while check suction function,

otherwise the air in the glove will

leak from these two ports。

1. Sealing the distal end with rubber glove.

2. Block air/water valve to inflate the glove.
3. Shut down the air pump, press the glove and confirm there is no air
leakage at the suction valve.
4. If the suction valve is leaking, replace a new valve first, if still leaking,
the valve cylinder is worn out.

Function inspection

Suction function check

1. Connect the suction pump to endoscope and switch on, set the
suction level, gastroscopy set to 40KPa, colonoscope set to 70KPa.
2. Aspirate the water to confirm the suction function,
aspirate amount: over 400ml/min

Function inspection

Auxiliary water feeding function check

1. Connect the auxiliary water feeding connector tube, use syringe to feed water
2. The water should eject out from the auxiliary water feeding outlet with straight
line status。
3. If the auxiliary water feeding tube is blocked, Use converted cell brush to clean
and unblock the tube.

Note: 320/330 series no auxiliary water feeding function

Processor and light source function check

500 system 550 system

1. Check the front panel every indicators.

2. Check the front panel every buttons
3. Check the status of the xenon lamp, confirm if it is close to life span.

Note: Xenon lamp life span is 500h, suggest hospital to replace

if over life span. LED lamp: 10000h

End the inspection

1. Shut down the light source, image processor and monitor。

2. Disconnect suction pump, water bottle, auxiliary water feeding
connector tube and endoscope cable。
3. Cover the waterproof cap, disconnect the scope from light source。
4. Take out all valves, place the scope upside down to pour-out the water
from the control section.
5. Connect the injection tube and channel plug, feed air with syringe to
drain the remaining water.
6. Wipe dry the outer surface of the scope, hand over to nurse for CDS。
7. Fill in the spot-inspection check list then give it to hospital.

If light quality is decreased, it could be due to the following reasons :

- The optical fiber has some problem
- The endoscope is not connected well on the light source
- The xenon lamp is faulty
- The light control become manual

Angulation
Angulation is failed if:
- Free Play (Bending Section not responsive to Angulation knob)
- Angulation angle do not meet the specification angle

➢ Reason: Bending wire degrades after usage for a long period

Water Feeding
Water Feeding Failure will cause objective lens cannot be clean properly
Point to check:
- Water bottle connection
- Air pump is on low mode
- Air/water valve broken
- Endoscope didn't connect well to the light source
- Existence of foreign material in the air/water tube

Air Feeding
