Exhaust Manifold
SMCS - 1059-12; 1059-11

Remove Exhaust Manifold

start by:

a) remove muffler

NOTE: Be extra careful not to cause damage to the fuel lines when the manifold bolts are
removed.

1. Remove exhaust elbow (1) from the exhaust manifold.

2. Remove muffler support assembly (2) from the exhaust manifold.

3. Disconnect fuel line (6) from the fuel filter. Remove bolt (5) that holds the clip for fuel line (6).

4. Remove two clamps (7) that hold breather tube (3) to the cylinder block. Loosen clamp (4) and
remove breather tube (3).

5. Bend locks (9) down. Remove bolts (10) and locks (9) that hold the exhaust manifold to the
cylinder head.

6. Remove exhaust manifold (8). Remove the gaskets.

Install Exhaust Manifold

1. Put the gaskets and exhaust manifold (1) in place on the cylinder head.

2. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold in
place.

3. Install the locks and bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head. Bend the locks
up.

4. Put breather tube (3) in position and tighten clamp (2). Install two clamps (6) that hold the
breather tube to the cylinder block.

5. Connect fuel line (4) to the fuel filter. Install bolt (5) that holds the clip for the fuel line.

6. Install exhaust elbow (7) on the exhaust manifold.

7. Install muffler support assembly (8) on the manifold.

a) install muffler
