Advanced Elementary Band Weekly Student Expectations: School Date of First Lesson
Advanced Elementary Band Weekly Student Expectations: School Date of First Lesson
The following information tells what day your child’s lesson is on and the date that the lessons will
start.
● Practice journals must be filled out and signed by a parent each week.
● Practice Grading:
● The time of the lesson will be announced on the day of your first lesson. Please see your
teacher for that exact time. A schedule should be posted in the classroom from that point
on.
● Please be as prompt as possible to your lesson, keeping an eye on the clock so you don’t
miss your lesson and the lesson can start on time.
● When you return from your lesson, keep in mind that you must make up the work that you
have missed while you were out of class and be prepared to do what it takes to make up
that work.
● Being in the advanced band means that you will be expected to have your music in a
binder and a book all year. Adv. band students should have been given a black binder. This
binder should only be used for band. Students may choose to use their own binder at any
time. Although we will supply students with sheet protectors, it is helpful if students can
purchase their own to put into their binders.
● Medical Form: Advanced band students are required to fill out a medical form for
band. This form must be turned in by the second lesson!
● We encourage all band students to purchase their own music stand (wire/foldable), if they
do not have one already. Music stands will be used primarily at home. Music stands make
practicing easier for all and at the same time help develop good tone, posture and breath
support. These can be purchased online or at most music stores.
