MRI LEFT KNEE JOINT

Findings :

MRI of the left knee joint was performed using PD, T1 & T2 weighted sequences in multiple planes.

Small patchy marrow edema is noted to the lateral and medial femoral condyle and at the lower pole of the patella.

Mild knee joint effusion is noted.

Mild subcutaneous edema is seen in pre-patellar region.

The joint shows normal alignment.

Rest of the bones reveals normal marrow signal intensity. The articular surfaces are normal.

Lateral and medial menisci are normal in signal and morphology.

The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments are normal in signal and morphology.

Lateral and medial collateral ligaments are normal in signal and morphology.

Ilio- tibial tract, popliteus muscles and tendon show normal signal pattern.

The patellofemoral and the tibiofemoral cartilages are normal.

Patellar - facets are normal. Patellar retinaculum is normal. The extensor mechanism - quadriceps femoris and patellar
tendon are normal. Hoffa's fat pad is normal.

Visualised femoral, tibial, fibular shafts and patella are normal in architecture.

Tibiofemoral and patellofemoral joint spaces are normal.

There is no evidence of fracture or dislocation.

There is no abnormal soft tissue swelling or calcification.

On skyline view normal patello-femoral joint space is noted.
