Q-1: For the given magnetic circuit, find the value of I required developing a magnetic flux of 
= 4 x 10-4 Wb. Also find absolute permeability (µ) and relative permeability (µr) of core. B-H

Q-2: The given figure shows a rectangular magnetic core with an air-gap. Find the exciting
current needed to establish a flux density of Bg = 1.2T in the air-gap. Given N=400 turns and r

Q-3: The given magnetic circuit has a cast steel core with dimensions as shown. It is required to
establish a flux of 0.8 mWb in the air-gap of the central limb. Determine the mmf of the exciting
coil, if for the core material r = ∞. [Ans. 1344 AT]

Q-4: The core of below figure has a relative permeability of 4000. The central limb is required to
carry a flux of 0.01 Wb. Find the current needed for the exciting coil. [Ans. 3A]

Q-5: The magnetic circuit of below figure has cast steel core whose dimensions are also
mentioned below. Determine the exciting coil mmf required to establish an air-gap flux of 0.75
mWb. Use the attached B-H curve. [Ans. 410 A.T]
