4. Bronwyn wants to buy a house, so she has decided to save one quarter of
her salary. Bronwyn earns $47,00 per hour and revceives an extra $28,00 a
week because she declined company benefit. She wants to at least
$550,00 each week. How many hours must she work each week to
achieve her goal?
Solution:
Misal: x=an hour
$ 47,00 x+ $ 28,00
≥ $ 550,00
4
$ 47,00 x +$ 28,00 ≥ $ 2.200,00
$ 47,00 x ≥ $ 2.172,00
$ 2.172,00
x≥
$ 47,00
X ≥ 46,212766
So, to raise at least $550,00 each week Bronwyn must work at least 46,2 hours each
week.

5. A company finds that if it produces and sells q unit of a product, its total sales revenue
in dollars is 100√ q If the variable cost per unit is $2 and the fixed cost is $1200, find
the values of q for wich:
total sales revenue = variable cost + fixed cost
(That is, profit is zero)
Answer:
Diketahui:
TR=100 √ q
VC =$ 2 per unit
FC =$ 1200
Profit=0 ,
So ,TC =TR
Solution:
TC=FC+VC
TR=1200+ 2 q
100 √ q=1200+ 2 q
2
(100 √ q) =( 1200+ 2 q)2
2
10.000 q=1.440.000+ 4.800 q+ 4 q
2
0=4 q −5200 q +1.440.000
q 2−1300 q+360.000=0
( q−400 )( q−900 )=0
q=400 atauq=900
So, the value of q wich profit is zero are q=400∨q=900

6. The monthly revenue of a certain company is given by R=800 p−7 p2, where p is the
price in dollars of the product the company manufactiures. At what price will the
revenue be $10.000 if the price must be greater than $50?
Solution:
R=800 p−7 p2
2
10000=800 p−7 p
7 p2−800 p+10000=0
So, a=7 , b=−800 , c=10000

If the price must be greather than $50. So, the price is $100.

7. Solve the inequalities: 2(4x-2) > 4(2x+1)

2 ( 4 x−2 )> 4 (2 x +1)
4 x−2>4 x +2
HP= {0 } atau ∅

8. Suppose consumers will purchase q units of a product at a price of 200/q + 3 dollars per
unit. What is the minimum number of units that must be sold in order that sales
revenue be greater than $9000?
Solution: ( 200/ q +3 ) q ≥ 9000
200+3 q ≥ 9000
3 q ≥ 8800
q ≥ 2933,333
So, the minimum number of unitss that must be sold in order that sales revenue be
greater than $9000 is 2.934 units.
