Kylie Minogue
The beginning
Born in Melbourne, Australia in 1968, Kylie Minogue’s career
began as a child actor in TV shows. She was in
Australian soap opera called ‘Neighbours’ where she
met Jason Donovan. Together they sang a duet, ‘Especially for You’.
It was Kylie’s first hit, a number one in the UK in 1988.
Music & style
In the 1980s Kylie had a very different image. She was the
friendly girl-next-door but this changed in the early ‘90s. Kylie is
now a sexy confident young woman. ‘Where the Wild Roses Grow’, a
duet with Nick Cave was a big success in 1995 & Kylie’s next hit
‘Spinning Around’ came in 2000. Her latest album ‘Fever’ is a
sensation in dance clubs around the world.
The Future
Kylie says that acting is still very close to her heart. She has been
in a few film clubs but they were not very successful.
The style & fashion press love Kylie & with fans around the world
her success is sure to continue.
The Beatles
The Beatles were the most famous pop group in 1960s. Their
music was not only popular in Britain, but all over the world. Members
of the band were John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison & Paul
McCartney. They were working-class boys from Liverpool. Some
well0known songs by the Beatles are ‘Yesterday’, ‘Strawberry Fields
Forever’, ‘Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ & ‘Michelle Ma Belle’.
They also starred in two films, ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ in 1964 & ‘Help!’
in 1965.
Paul McCartney who used to sing & play bass for the Beatles,
established his own group called Wings, which played for ten years. In
1991 he also wrote his first piece of classical music called the Liverpool Oratorio.
Paul’s daughter Stella is a top British fashion designer.
John Lennon learnt to play harmonica at the age of 12 but he
wanted to be a millionaire not a musician. He met Paul McCartney in
1955 & they started the Beatles in 1960.
John Lennon was shot in New York outside his own house on
December 8, 1980.
George Harrison died on November 29, 2001, at the age of 58.
 David Beckham
Personal History
David Robert Joseph Beckham was born in London on
May 2nd 1974. He plays football for Manchester United
& is captain of both Manchester & England. Fans love
Beckham & call him the ‘Golden Boy of English Football’. He is also
famous for his hairstyles which change very often.
Family
Beckham is married to Victoria Adams – one of the Spice Girls. They have
two sons, Brooklyn & Romeo, & they are favourite stars of the British
press. The Beckhams live in Cheshire, not too far away from
Manchester United’s home ground.
Plans
David will be playing for Real Madrid. He left
Manchester United & agreed to a new four-year contract.

Prince William
Personal Details
Prince William Arthur Philip Louis was 20 years old on June 21st
2002. He is a very popular member of the Royal family & looks a lot
like his mother, Princess Diana.
Like his father, Prince William went to Eton College,
an exclusive boys-only boarding school. He left it in 200
& then went to Chile to help in a charity project with Raleigh
International. At the moment he is studying Art History at St.
Andrew’s University in Scotland.
The Prince likes to be active & loves sport, especially swimming, tennis,
skiing, rowing & cycling.
The Future
After university Prince William is going to join the army or navy.
This is a family tradition. The Prince doesn’t want to become King, but
one day in the future people will call him King William III if England.
Now he is a very popular member of the Royal family.
