My Life in Art

The primary reason I took computer science as my

course in college is, I want to specifically develop games
that are engaging, fun, and can leave players with good
memories. As someone who has experienced a lot of
difficulties in the past, games have always been my go-to
for helping me cope up with the hard times.

Game development encompasses many forms of

art. This ranges from character design, map structure,
level design, puzzles, dynamic music, animations, and
also a storyline. I want to make a game that is not only
entertaining but also makes the player feel involved and immersed, making it possible for them
to connect with the virtual characters. I want them to have that feeling that even after years
passed after they finished playing the game and they hear the game music somewhere. It would
trigger a nostalgic feeling that makes them remember all the good times they have spent playing
the game either solo or together with friends. For me, subtitles or any form of text is not always
necessary for conveying certain emotions. Back in my high school years, I have learnt how
different lines, shapes, and colors can help in expressing a certain feeling. I want to incorporate
these in my game and at the same time connect with the audience at the best way possible
without the need of words.

I personally do not consider myself good at art. However, this does not discourage and
stop me from taking steps to get better. I am hoping that someday with the help of this course, I
will be able to make and develop a meaningful, visually appealing, and entertaining game that is
easy for different people to relate to.
