CCC8014 China in World History

Study Guide for Unit Quiz #2

Duration of the quiz: 25 minutes


Quiz period: November 5 Thursday 12:00 noon – November 10 Tuesday 23:59.

The quiz is administered on Moodle. Once you started the quiz, you have 25 minutes to work
on it. You can attempt the quiz at any time during the quiz period. You will have only one
attempt.

The purpose of this quiz is simple and straightforward. It is to ensure that you have gained a
basic understanding of the history of this second unit in the course, namely “Global Middle
Ages.” The quiz will test that you have understood the basic historical development in this
period, as well as the significance of various events and personalities.

As such, it is going to be a multiple-choice quiz. The number of questions will range from 12 to
18. This quiz is also open book. You can refer to outside materials during the quiz. Please be
mindful, however, that given the short duration of the quiz, you will not have an abundance of
time to refer to these materials. It is essential that you studied the materials beforehand in
order to perform well on the quiz.

Finally, please be reminded that any act of academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. The work
on your quiz should be yours alone; any form of cheating will be immediately reported to the
Registry and other relevant university administrative offices for their handling.

To prepare well for this quiz, you should have a basic knowledge of the meaning and
significance of the following key terms. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list but only an
inventory of the most important concepts that we have covered.
