OBE Course Syllabus

PNU Philosophy Education for personal renewal and social transformation.

Course Description The course focuses on the review and practical application of various theories and concepts of pedagogy based on
the nature and learning process of specific disciplines. Students will have a critical understanding of these theories
and concepts and how they are applied to facilitate students’ learning in the classroom. Among other things,
students will experience teaching demonstration and creating portfolio that reflects their pedagogical approach. At
the end of the course, students are expected to have developed or refined their personal theory of instruction based
on their analysis and reflection about effective pedagogical practices.

Program Outcomes 1. Possess strong theoretical and evidence-based foundations of teaching and learning processes;
2. Create learning environment that fosters critical literacy instruction by integrating foundational knowledge on
effective instructional

practices, approaches and methods, curriculum materials, and appropriate assessments;


3. Use instructional approaches, materials, and an integrated, comprehensive, balanced curriculum to
support student learning; and
4. Apply current research-based strategies that are compatible with 21st century learner characteristics based
on pedagogical theories critically reviewed and evaluated.
