STANDARDS:
Content Standard/s: The learners demonstrate understanding of not giving up on their
own lives, do not depend your life on anything.
Performance Standard/s: The learners should do a reflection on what they have learned
about the lesson that has been discussed.

I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
a. Cognitive: Examine the story The Last Leaf by O. Henry through reading it
comprehensively.
b. Affective: Acknowledge the moral lesson of the story. And see to it to apply
it in all aspects their lives.
c. Psychomotor: Make a reflection about the story on how it affects them and
come up with realization and learning in life.
a. Preparatory Activities
1. Drill
The teacher will ask the students about their past topic just to identify if
they still remember it.
2. Review
The teacher will ask other questions about the past discussion.
Questions to ask:
What is short story?
How about the elements of a short story?
b. Developmental Activities
1. EXPLORE
The teacher will be distributing bond papers. In this moment we were
going to have an activity called “LISTEN and DRAW”. This task will
last for almost 3minutes.
Instructions:
First step, draw a tree.
Second, draw a sun at the upper right side of the tree.
Next, most of the leaves of the tree fell into the ground and only one leaf
was left on a branch.
Lastly, write your name on the uppermost left side of your paper and
below, your grade and section and the date today.
3. DEEPEN
Activity 3: “YOUR TURN TO SPEAK UP”
The teacher will divide the class into 2 groups. Each group will arrange
the events of the story in chronological order, and will choose a
representative to discuss their work. The teacher will just give 5 minutes
to finish the task. The group who finishes on time and arrange the events
accordingly will receive a prize. Afterwards I will ask questions to
identify if the students really understand the story.
