WHAT IS IoT
WHAT IS IoT
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network of devices that have an embedded hardware and software
to communicate (connect and exchange data) with other devices on the same network.
• The first Iot device, developed in 1990, was a toaster that could be turned on and off over
the Internet.
• The Internet of Things is an aggregation of internet enabled sensors, smart devices and
software that can be manipulated by scripts, applications and user interfaces across long
distances.
• For example, if a microwave oven, an air conditioner, door lock, CCTV camera or other such
devices are enabled to connect to the Internet, we can access and remotely control them
on-the-go using our smartphone.
IoT in healthcare
The composed data will help in modified analysis of an individuals health and provide tailor made
strategies to combat illness.
Connected cars
A connected car is a VECHILE which is able to enhance its own operation maintenance as well as
comfort of passengers using onboard sensors and Internet connectivity
Wearables
wearable devices are installed with sensors and software which collect data and information about
the users this data is later pre processed to extract essential insights about user.
livestock OBSERVING is about animal husbandry and cost saving. using IoT applications to gather
data about the health and wellbeing of the cattle, farmers knowing early about the sickening animal
can pull out and help prevent large number of sick CATTLE.
