1) Introduction

Users complain the network is too slow. There can be many reasons why a network that provided
adequate performance in the past is now frustrating its users. For instance, a new application, such
as video conferencing or online videos, may have been added. A failing switch port or link could
cause traffic to route around the failure and overload another link.

2) Objective

The aim of this project is to get good internet speed refers to how much data and information can be
transferred over the web on a single connection at any given time.

3) Project Scope

The main reason of this is to find out the use of internet service and its effects on staff’s performance.
Furthermore, those staff use the internet is to manage workplace communications and maintain an
efficient work environment.

4) Job Scope
i. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to your modem
ii. Connect other end to your ethernet
iii. Uplink, WAN or WLAN port on the router
iv. Connect your computer to the router using an Ethernet cable
v. Reboot your computer and upon start up, your computer should detect that you are
connected to the Internet.
vi. Successfully connected to internet.
5) Advantages and Disadvantages of project

Advantages

i. The speed of communication becomes faster which is obtained through the web.
ii. Anyone can find information on almost any imaginable subject. Plenty of resources are
often found through the program in minutes.
iii. Security is good – users cannot see other user’s files unlike on stand-alone machines.
iv. Data is easy to backup as all the data is stored on the file server.
v. Site (software) licenses are likely to be cheaper than buying several standalone licenses.

Disadvantages

i. Viruses can spread to other computers throughout a computer network.

ii. The expense of executing the system including cabling and equipment can be expensive.
iii. Since most networks have a centralized server and dependent clients, the client users lack
any freedom whatsoever.
iv. As previously stated, if a computer network’s main server breaks down, the entire system
would become useless.
v. For a computer network to work efficiently, it requires high technical skills and know-
how of its operations and administration.

6) DNS Server Configuration

i) Tap Start and then click on Control Panel.

ii) Click on Network and Internet, and then tap Change Adapter Settings.
iii) Right-click on the Wi-Fi network you are connected to, then click Properties.
iv) Select Internet Protocol Version 4 and click Properties, and then write down any existing
DNS server entries for future reference.
v) Now tap Use The Following DNS Server Addresses, and replace those addresses with the
1.1.1.1 DNS addresses: For IPv4: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1; and For IPv6:
2606:4700:4700::1111 and 2606:4700:4700::1001
vi) Click OK, then Close, and Restart your browser.

11) Conclusion/Summary

In conclusion, internet is one of the best things ever invented in humanity. The amount of things you
can do over the internet is extremely phenomenal. If you’re constantly dealing with buffering and
slowdowns, then it may be time to boost your bandwidth. Run a speed test to see what you’re getting
and ask your provider if a faster package is available.
