Present stem forms with a kind of reduplication (using ι instead of ε).

Words beginning with a vowel or σ instead use a ἱ
Other tenses use the root as the stem
διδωμι and τιθηεμι use a 1st aorist in the indicative and a 2nd aorist in the oblique moods.
ἱστημι uses a 1st aorist as a transitive verb (I caused to stand) and a 2nd aorist as an intransitive
verb.
