Lesson idea implementation:

Students will be asked to recall a time when they traded goods and services. For example,
they go with their mom to the store and buy frozen pizza, or go to the fair and buy tickets to
trade for the service of riding a ride. Students will have to tie that personal experience with
this lesson and recount and label the good and service.

Lesson Idea

I will use time on task intensely in this lesson. Students get a sheet of paper to jot ideas down
for 10-15 minutes. Then, I will lead the class in a crash course on how to use Sway. Students
then will have 5 minutes to explore Sway on their own. At this point, students will have some
ideas and experience with Sway. They will then have 15-25 minutes to work on their own.
With the learning goal of having at least two examples of goods and services. They will also
have the goal to understand the difference between the two. In the next class time, students
would present their Sway. Time can always be added and taken away.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This lesson support student learners through having
added text and audio. Students will add a voice-over to their presentations, or read the text
they added to their “slides”. There will also be a visual component of pictures. Students are
engaged in this lesson because they have the autonomy of choosing the format and examples
to represent goods and services. The goals will also be given in writing from the start and can
be used as a brainstorming sheet.
Reflecting on enhanced learning:
I'm looking forward to seeing the examples students present. The objective is to have the
class see different types of goods and services. They will get to see each other's cultures if
they present different food and things they buy for home use.
