News Notes

September 15, 2022


Outdoor School: Students in grades 5-6 will be leaving for
Outdoor school on Monday, October 19. A packing list is included.
Upcoming Events
Lifeguards will be at camp this year, so the students are welcome to Friday, September 16
bring modest swimwear for the lake. Please bring everything to school *Chapel
Monday morning. They will leave Monday about 11:30 after eating *Pizza
lunch at CPCA and return on Thursday afternoon around 3 pm.
Monday, September 19
5th and 6th graders not going to outdoor school will have alternative *Outdoor School (grades 5-6
activities to complete at home. These packets will be sent home on leave about 10:30 am)

Cool Whip Lids: The outdoor school staff is requesting Cool Whip Tuesday, September 20
lids for a project they are doing. If you have some taking up space in *Outdoor School (grades 5-6)
your cabinets, please give them to Mr. Mendez by Monday morning. *Library Day
*Piano Lessons
Canned Food Drive: Thanks go to all who contributed to the Wednesday, September 21
canned food drive. *Outdoor School (grades 5-6)
*Hot Lunch: Haystacks (build
Education Sabbath: CPCA students will be leading out in the your own taco salad)
worship service on Sabbath (Saturday) October 1. The worship starts *Band
at 11 am and we ask that families arrive at church by 10:45. There is Thursday, September 22
programming for children and Bible study for adults starting at 10 am. *Outdoor School (grades 5-6
return for 3 pm pick up)
Grades 5-6 will lead praise music. Grades TK-K will play the bells. *News Notes sent home
Grades 1-4 will sing a song. Grades 7-8 will share a video and a skit.
Friday, September 23
Following the service there will be a fellowship meal at the gym. *Chapel
*Pizza
Families are welcome to bring a vegetarian dish to share. Around
1pm there will be a prayer walk led by our prayer ministries teams to Monday, September 26
cover our students, staff, and school in prayer. *Volleyball 5-6 pm
Sabbath (Sat.), October 1
Volleyball: There will be no practice the week of September 19 due *Education Sabbath at 11
to Outdoor School. Practice resumes on Monday, September 26 from am at the church
5-6 pm. Thanks go to the parent volunteers who are helping.
Tuesday, October 11
*End of First Quarter
MAP Testing: MAP testing will conclude next week as students *Noon Dismissal
make-up any missed tests. The results of the assessments will be
shared with parents at our parent-teacher conference in October. Wed. to Fri., October 12-14
*Fall Break - no school
Sterling Volunteers: Please complete the training & background Thursday, October 27
check if you plan to attend field trips and/or help at school. Thank you! *Noon Dismissal
