1ST SUMMATIVE TEST IN PRACTICAL RESEARCH 2

Name: ____________________________ Grade & Section: __________

Test I. Identification
Directions: Identify the correct answer in each meaning. Write
your answer on the space provided.

________ 1. It is used to describe a particular phenomenon by observing it

as it occurs in nature. There is no experimental manipulation
and the researcher does not start with a hypothesis. The goal of
descriptive research is only to describe the person or object of
the study.

________ 2. It has cause and effect relationship of variables. It also has

lesser validity due to the absence of random selection and
assignment of subjects.

________ 3. It is used to investigate a possible relationship between

previous events and present conditions. The term “Ex post
facto”, means after the fact, looks at the possible causes of an
already occurring phenomenon. Just like the first two, there is
no experimental anipulation in this design.

________ 4. Identifies the relationship between variables. Data is collected

by observation since it does not consider the cause and effect
for example, the relationship between the amount of physical
activity done and student academic achievement.

________ 5. like quasi- experimental is used to establish the cause and

effect relationship of two or more variables. This design provides a
more conclusive result because it uses random assignment
of subjects and experimental manipulations.

________ 6. It is the characteristics of research where data gathering and

analysis of results are done accurately, objectively, and are
unaffected by the researcher’s intuition and personal guesses.

________ 7. Data is numerical, which makes presentation through graphs,

charts, and tables possible and for better conveyance and
interpretation. What characteristics of research is defined?

validity, free from false or immature conclusions.

________ 9. This step lets you evaluate the questions formulated. What
specific questions should you ask? How should you gather your
data sufficient to answer the questions?

________ 10. The very first thing a reader comes across when searching for
scientific literature.

you inform the reader of the context of the study.

__________ 14. Quantitative research cannot be replicated or repeated.

__________ 15. In Quantitative Research, numerical and quantifiable data

can be used to predict outcomes.

__________ 16. There is no need to capitalize all nouns, pronouns, verbs,

adjectives, and adverbs in writing a Research Title.

__________ 17. Research Title must be stated in a declarative form.
