VERSE/CHAPTER: 1 Peter 2:4-6

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and
precious to him—  5  you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to
be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus
Christ.  6  For in Scripture it says:

“See, I lay a stone in Zion,

    a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”

THEME: Chosen Generation

TOPIC: Living For Jesus

INTRODUCTION:
As a Christians, followers of Christ, we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and
Saviour and by accepting Jesus, we also accept his authority over our lives. We accepts
that for now on, He is the one who calls the shots and we live to honour and glorify Him.
For today’s message we will deepen our understanding why Jesus died for us and why
we need to live for Him. We are just like nothing, like filthy rag but why we are chosen to
live for Christ.
As we study His word, let us look at this picture.

WARM-UP QUESTION:
What can you say about the picture?
As you can see this is a picture of a virus and;
As of now the world is suffering in what we called Corona Virus or COVID 19.

Did you know that as follower of Christ we can compare to a virus?

As we study the message today, we will know why by accepting Jesus Christ in our
lives we became like a virus. A virus chosen by God to live for Jesus.

TITLE: CROWN Virus

In this word will refresh our identity as we live for Christ as a chosen people by God.
 WE ARE CHOSEN

As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by
God  and precious to him—  5  you also, like living stones…
1 Peter 2:4-5a

From the first moment that we accept and acknowledge Jesus Christ in our life,
we start to live for Him.
gating Panginoong Jesus.

And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we
are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his
suffering.
Romans 8:17

 WE ARE ROYAL PRIESTHOOD

…Being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood…
1 Peter 2:5b

Let us define the meaning of Royal Priesthood. Bakit tayo tinawag na Royal
Priesthood.

Royal- Implies to Kingship or Royalty

Priesthood- Implies to being priest before God (Servant of God)

And have made us kings and priests to our God;

And we shall reign on the earth.”
Revelation 5:10
We have an exclusive access/connection to God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

 WE ARE LIVING OFFERING

…Offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ…
1 Peter 4:5c

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your
bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and
proper worship.
Romans 12:1

 WE ARE WINNER
See, I lay a stone in Zion,
    a chosen and precious cornerstone,
1 Peter 2:6a

We are winners, why? Because we believe in Jesus, and who ever believes in
Him will never be put to shame (Romans 10:11)

Others, rejected Jesus, but we believe in Him and by believing Jesus Christ He
became our cornerstone that no one can destroy or put down.

 WE ARE A HOLY NATION

…a holy nation, God’s special possession…
1 Peter 2:9b

We are people of God, chosen and set-apart.

CONCLUSION:
Balikan nating ung illustration kanina. Bakit noong tinanggap natin si Jesus bilang ating
Panginoon at Tagapagligtas naihalintulad na tayo sa isang virus?
Did you know?
That virus exist almost everywhere on earth, and as Christian we must exist
everywhere on earth.
saan man tayo naroon.

That virus have different effects defending on the types of organism they infect,
and as Christian we have different effects in the people around us, we may uplift them,
equipment them and encourage them or we may destroy them. May iba’t-ibang dulot

That the virus is considered as the most abundant entity on earth, and as a
Christian we must also the most abundant beliefs among others.
mundo.

That the virus exist only to reproduce and as a Christian, we exist to share and
reproduce our faith among others.
Kagaya nga n gating “Great Commission” (Matthew 28:19-20)
19
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in  the name of the Father and
[a]

of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

That virus is the only living organism that cannot replicate without a host cell, and as a
Christian we cannot replicate if we don’t really have relationship with God.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special
possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into
his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of
God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
