Overview
QUALCOMM's CSM6800 Cell Site Modem (CSM) device is a CDMA digital baseband modem for infrastructure and test equipment that supports CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A, enabling network operators to provide a broad range of next-generation wireless multimedia and other data services for consumers and enterprise customers. The CSM6800 solution is backward compatible with CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision 0, allowing operators a seamless migration path to next-generation multimedia services. CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A networks are optimized for packet data service, and support higher data rate forward and reverse links and lower data latency enabling on-line 3D gaming, high quality still image and video clip uploading, higher resolution and faster frame-rate video telephony and other rich multimedia services. By minimizing transmission delay and data loss while maximizing throughput, CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Revision A networks enable richer multimedia capabilities and improve the overall user experience. Enabling the highest level of integration, the CSM6800 device represents the latest modem architecture for the CDMA2000 1x EV-DO family.
