SIP 2019-2022 END-OF-CYCLE REPORT

I. INTRODUCTION

School Improvement Plan is the heart of the school operation and its
function. With the collaborative efforts of the school administration and teachers, we
come up to the realization of its operation, the School Improvement Plan (SIP)
together with the Annual Implementation Plan (AIP). The School Planning Team,
School Project Team and School Governing Council are well oriented about the value
of SIP/AIP to produce the said priorities and improve school needs and maintenance.

The School Improvement Plan mirrors the school’s dedication and

commitment to both its internal and external stakeholders. Working hand in hand to
produce a lasting legacy that the learners will uphold, the legacy that will pass on
to the next generation.

Moreover, the SIP reflects the three consecutive years of operation that
Senior High School in San Nicholas promise to accomplish, again with the concerted
effort of all concerned.

II. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Every school dream of constantly nurturing each learner through maximizing

its efforts of improving the three Key Resource Areas namely Access, Quality and
Governance. Thus, a steward of institutions as big as ours, we ensure that support
and care for our learners are eminent.

ACCESS

SHS in San Nicholas III posted an increase of enrollment for SY 2018-2019

which has a total population of 1636 learners. However, the increase in enrolment
could also mean high dropout rate. The drop-out rate for the SY 2018-2019 was
2.51% of the total enrollees. The same scenario which happened two years back
when SHS was just beginning. Identified reasons were early marriages, teenage
pregnancy and working at an early age to help their respective families to live and to
survive.

QUALITY

The achievement level of the learners across all TRACKS offered by the
school was 85.17% as of SY 2018-2019. With this basis the school still aims for
higher achievement level to meet the standards of the Division office.

The National Certification II is the basis that learner’s gained skills passed the
standard of TESDA. Thus, result of the National Certification (NC II) of the TVL
learners was commendable. For Grade 12 Home Economics Strand, 219 out of 219
(100%) earned their NC II and for Grade 11 (Food and Beverage), 115 out of 116
(99%). For the ICT, 155 out 171 (91%) learners passed the NC II. In totality, out of
506 takers, 489 are passers. This showed 97% of the learners are NC II holders.
Thus, our school still aim for 100% passers in the National Certification.

Master Teachers play an important role in the teaching-learning process.

They assure that quality standards are met with in the school level. Innovations
should be introduced in the school setting thus it could be attained through
application of research. One of the functions of Master Teachers is to produce Action
Research/es that are usable for the school.

GOVERNANCE

The role of external Stakeholders especially parents’ participation in molding

the learners is highly recognized as a tool in teaching-learning process. The school’s
weak linkages to parents are a very high priority area since most of the parents
failed to attend the school’s invitations. Based from the data of attendance during
Parent-Teacher Conference, parents show lesser interest in attending meetings for
cards distribution, consultation and the likes. During home visitation, parents showed
no interest in addressing the learners’ need.

The Faculty Development Program of the school is continuously being

enhanced.
All teachers have the chance of attending varied seminars, workshops and trainings
sponsored by the school through School-based Learning Action Cell, also from the
Division and the Regional Office.

Moreover, SHS in San Nicholas is a newly established institution which is in

need of school facilities, school laboratories and ancillary services which were
identified by the school as one of its high priorities. If given importance, having
Science laboratories that meet the standard and TVL laboratories at par with TESDA,
will surely raise the quality of the teaching and learning process.

The full implementation of sustainable school programs and projects make

both the internal and external stakeholders stay connected. For each learning area, it

is a sound realization that having such program/projects makes the teaching learning
process runs smoothly.

PRIORITY IMPROVEMENT AREAS

Our school has identified ten PIA’s for three SY 2019-2022. Four of them
were identified as very high priority namely Drop-out rate, School Facilities and
Ancillary Services, School laboratories, Linkage to Stakeholders. Six of them were
identified as with high priority like Enrolment Rate, Achievement Rate, Action
Research, School Quality Monitoring and Evaluation, Faculty Development Program,
NC Passing Rate.

ACCESS

Based from PIAs identified, the following were found to be the root causes.

• Drop-out Rate - Learners tend to drop from the school to seek for
employment to help support their family.
• Enrolment Rate- Learners tend to work instead of going to school.

QUALITY

• NC Passing Rate - Insufficient TVL tools and equipment and lack of

laboratories.
• Achievement Level- Low achievement level of all learners across track.

GOVERNANCE

• School Programs and Project sustainability related to curricular and co-

curricular activities- Unavailability of structured programs of varied
curricular and non- curricular activities.
• Faculty Development Program- There is no standard Faculty
Development Program
• School Facilities and Ancillary Service - There is no enough facilities to
support the teaching- learning process.
• Science Laboratories- Inadequate laboratories to be used by learners
across all Tracks.
• Linkages of the school with the internal and external stakeholders
• Low commitment resulting to minimal participation of the parents in
varied school activities.

 The School Improvement Plan was crafted to assure (1) that all of the SHS
learners are in school; (2) quality service is given to them, and (3) availing the full
support of a school management in having child friendly, safe and motivating school
environment.

To realize the mission of the school, ten major objectives have been targeted
to be accomplished for three consecutive years from SY 2019 to 2022.

ACCESS
1. Increase by 5% the enrolment rate each year.
2. Decrease by 1% the drop-out rate per school year.

QUALITY
1. Increase by 2% the National Certification passers every school year.
2. Increase by 3% the achievement level in all subjects across all TRACKS per
school year.
3. Produce and utilize one action research per school year for Master Teachers

GOVERNANCE
1. Capacitate 100% of the teachers to be involved in the activities stipulated
in the Faculty Development Program.
2. Improve at least by 30 % per school year, the Science Laboratories in
conformity with the set of standards laid down by DepEd and TVL
Laboratories at par with TESDA.
3. Improve by 25% the school facilities and ancillary services per school year.
4. Increase by at least 50% of parents’ participation during school activities.
5. Sustain 100% of the school programs and activities per school year.

The target and specific objectives stated were results of the prioritization of
root causes. Finally, all the data indicated above are supported by its annexes for
clarification and appreciation of the three Key Result Areas and their corresponding
objectives.
