Short Operation Instruction
ERAFLASH – Flash Point Tester
Turning on the analyzer
Position the analyzer properly on the bench. After connecting
the power cable to the back panel of the analyzer, press the
main power switch.
The analyzer will load the firmware. During this process, the
LED on the front will flash. The loading takes approximately
15 seconds. After loading, the analyzer will automatically
display the measuring menu:
Measurement settings
Choose the STANDARD, the PROFILE, the SAMPLE ID, the
OERATOR name and enter either the expected flash point or
the start and final temperature.
Measuring PROFILES can be entered and modified in the
settings menu. Such Profiles include preset measuring
temperature, appropriate sample names and if required an
offset for perfect correlation to other instruments.
For unknown samples use a wide measuring range entering
Tinitial and Tfinal. For routine samples with approximately
known flash point simply enter the expected flash point. The
Tinitial and Tfinal is set automatically as required by the
selected standard method.
ASTM D 7094 & D 93 c and D56 c
If you choose these standard methods then the sample cup
for 2mL sample must be used. Use a pipette to pour the
sample into the sample cup up to the 2mL mark. Put a
stirring magnet into the cup for stirring the sample during the
test.
ASTM D 6450
This standard method requires the smaller sample cup where
1 mL must be filled only. Fill the sample cup with a pipette
and put a stirring magnet in.

Starting the measurement
Put the sample cup into the opening of the front panel and
close the door. Press the RUN key to start the measurement.
As soon as the measurement was started, the screen
changes to the measure screen which provides information
about the status of the measurement.
The entire measurement is fully automated and takes
approximately 5 minutes (depending on the measuring
range)
When the measurement is finished, the result is displayed.
At the same time the result is also saved in the result
memory.
Press OK to return to the settings of the measuring screen.
Clean the electrodes and the sample cup to be ready for the
next measurement.
LIMS Communication
When ERAFLASH is connected to a LIMS system the results
are automatically transferred.
Results menu
The results are also stored and shown in the Results menu
and ordered by standard method.
Print results
Select the results to be printed by the line number and then
press the Print button.
Save results on USB memory stick
For saving all the results connect a USB memory stick and
press the Save button
