I.OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
a. Identify the different composers and songs during
the Romantic Period
b. Understand the elements of Theater during the
Romantic Period.
c. Perform improvisations of gestures, props/costume,
and music of their chosen opera song.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of
characteristic features of instrumental Romantic music.
B. Performance Standards The learner sings and performs themes of selected
songs.
C. Most Essential Learning Creates / improvises appropriate sounds, music, gestures,
Competencies (MELC) movements, and costumes for a chosen opera. (MU9OP-

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction What I need to know
● In this part, the learners will play the game
finding piso which will showcase their
understanding of the element Dynamics.
● The teacher will help the students process their
answers.
● Learning objectives will be discussed to guide
the learners on what they are expected to
achieve after the lesson.

What’s new?
Vocal Music from the Romantic Period will be
introduced to the learners.

B. Development What’s in?


● The teacher will introduce some composers of
opera songs from the Romantic Period with a
sample of their composition.
● The teacher will discuss some theatrical terms
and its elements.
What is it?
Let the learners will enumerate the different composers
and some of their songs.

C. Engagement What I can do?


The learners will do the activity “Sing galing”, where the
teacher will teach the learners a portion of the song “La
Traviata”
D. What I have learned?
● In this part, the learners will play “Ang Arte mo” where
each group will be assigned a different element which
they will highlight/showcase while performing the first
part of the song La Traviata.

What I can do?


● Learner will be asked to answer a 10-item type of
assessment. It will cover information about the
composers, their songs during the Romantic
Period and the elements of theater.
● The learner may check and compare their answer
using the answer key after the test
● As a homework, the learners has to look for an
opera song and learn a portion of it for next
meeting’s activity.
