ANNUAL PRIESTS ASSEMBLY
Priests throughout the Diocese of Madison will be attending the
42nd annual Presbyteral Assembly held on September 18-21 at
the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells. The annual retreat for
priests is an opportunity for prayer and fellowship as well as
education and reflection, away from the distractions of their
ministry.
THANK YOU TO THE LIONS CLUB
On behalf of St. James and all who attended the Lions Senior Dinner
on September 12, we wish to thank you for the delicious meal and all
the wonderful fellowship.

INTO THE DEEP – STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR THE

DIOCESE OF MADISON
There are some real and widespread roadblocks that we need
to address…WORKERS: Many Places are Unable to Find and
Retain Qualified Staff.
Many of our parishes, schools, and other institutions were
historically staffed by religious sisters, extra priests, and those
who could afford to serve there for little more than a “thank you.”
CCW – CROSS CATHOLIC OUTREACH & BOX OF JOY But unfortunately, today this is no longer the case, and given this,

poorest of the poor in developing countries. Together, Catholics in
the U.S. are able to join Our Lord Jesus Christ in acts of mercy. May God help all of us to follow Him…into the deep!
The outreach also provides a unique opportunity for Catholics to
engage in service with others in their local communities who share
the same desire to spread Christmas joy and the story of
Christmas — the Good News of God’s love — with children
worldwide.
Our CCW has placed a box at the church entrance for gift
items that you wish to donate to the Cross Catholic Outreach “Box
of Joy”. A sample of gift ideas is attached to this bulletin. Thank
you in advance for your generosity and support.
