Yes, ma'am, there have been several studies of this topic, however our research focuses on the
impact of mixed waste materials such as durian husks, peanut shells, and cucumber skins, which
are not frequently recycled as fertilizers. Durian husks, for example, were used to make
bandages and papers, cucumber skins were used to make face masks, and peanuts shells were
frequently burnt, discarded, or left to decay naturally. We aim to make this product to see what
the effects of the mixed materials are and how they might help organic agriculture to develop.

(back-up info) Organic agriculture is a farming method that promotes soil, ecological, and
human health. Rather than using harmful inputs, it depends on biological processes, biodiversity,
and cycles that are adapted to local conditions.

@@Methodology

All the research materials will be purchased in the central market. The durian husks, cucumber
skins and peanut shells will be collected after the proponents use the agricultural products.

The proponents will prepare 24 samples, each with eight treatments and three replicates. The
durian husk will be cut into pieces first, then the cucumber skins will be burnt, and all of this,
including the peanut shells, will be ground into powder. These will be mixed in with the soil to
see what effect they have. To maintain uniformity, three seeds will be placed in each sample.
The plant's growth will be observed for a month to examine how the treatments effect each
plant's development.

The study will be conducted at Estillote’s residence, Edwin Andrews Air Base, Sta. Maria,
Zamboanga City.

The Organic Agriculture Act of 2010 or Republic Act 10068 aims to promote and sustain organic
farming in the Philippines. It is a policy that aims to improve the soil fertility and increase farm
productivity using organic farming methods. Through the implementation of the Organic
Agriculture Law, various activities such as cultivation and adoption of already-developed or yet-
to-be-developed production and processing technologies, as well as ongoing research and
development and consumer education, are planned to promote and commercialize organic
farming methods and practices. These include the establishment of local government units,
nongovernment organization and other organizations that can help implement these methods

Us, the researchers came up with this idea because we wanted to lessen the polution and to give knowledge to people in our
community, the abundant materials in the society that are not properly dispose can actually be turned as an alternative fertilizer
for the crops.
