Paras Nehete

“It is a multiple-employee based firm. When I was working there, there were 4 Senior
Architects and 15-17 odd other employees which included interns, draftsmen, designated
people for different softwares, office staff and handhelps. ”

Bhavesh Govindani

““How big is the firm in terms of area?”

Paras Nehete

“The firm's office is quite large. It measured around 1800-2000 sq. ft.”

Bhavesh Govindani

“What was the zoning like? Tell me about the spaces of the office.”

Paras Nehete

“The firm's office consists of two medium-sized cabins for both the Principal architects. It
has counters for the senior architects. Separate rooms for separate designated jobs are
also allotted. For example, one space allotted to interns, one to the draftsmen and
designers, one to the software handlers and rendering experts, etc. There is also a
conference room for meetings and brainstorming, a pantry, a printing room, two
washrooms and an entrance lobby cum waiting area.”

Bhavesh Govindani

“Were your working hours flexible? And did you have to do overtime very often?”

Paras Nehete

“The functioning hours of the firm, officially, were 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. The timings were
flexible sometimes. And sometimes, we had to wait back and work overtime. When I
worked there we had alternate Saturdays off (2nd and 4th).”

Bhavesh Govindani

“What is the environment of the office like?”

Paras Nehete

“The environment in the office is a mix of formal and informal. When we don't have
meetings with the clients, it's very informal and we like to keep it that way because there
is more focus on the exchange of ideas and designs, discussions or interactions we have
amongst ourselves otherwise. Although when somebody is visiting the office or if there's
a meeting then the environment is a bit formal.”

Bhavesh Govindani

“How do different departments of the office interact with each other?”

Paras Nehete

“The different departments work hand in hand with each other. The interns are often
shifted from one department to another.”

Bhavesh Govindani

“What is the reviewing process like? And the time on a single project, time to get
approvals, time to go on-site, etc. etc.”

Paras Nehete

“The reviewing process approximately takes less than a week but the completion of the
project takes 6 to 7 months or even years depending on the scale of the project. For the
ongoing project Site, visits are scheduled around 2 to 3 days a week until it is completely
done. The site visiting timings are as within the office timings itself.”
