INTRODUCTION

 Medical students are demanded to adjust their learning methods since there are significant
differences when they were in high schools.
 In medical school students experience new learning methods such as PBL tutorial, expert meeting,
skill laboratory and study skills.
 PBL tutorial generates anxiety when it is not an effective learning system. It could also be non
accurate information, non dynamic and non supportive learning environments, and less of learning
guidance.
 However, the longer the exposure, the lesser anxiety level is experienced.
 The aim of this study is to find out the correlation between the length of study and the anxiety level.

METHODS

Medical students Batch 2008 - 2010

Handed
Anxiety Depression & Vulnerability Scale questionnaire

Analyzed by using
Somers'd Correlation Test (α = 0.05)
RESULTS

The anxiety among medical students (%) batch 2008-

CONCLUSION
 There are statistically no significant correlation (p = 0.072)
 The longer the length of study, the higher the anxiety level.
 The correlation is very weak (r = 0.080)

LESSON LEARNT
 Changing in learning methods creates anxiety
 The problem should be addressed regardless the prevalence
 Instead of the length of study, many other factors contribute to students’ anxiety
