("Fortune Tellers or Cootie Catchers")

These are just like the fortune tellers you probably made as a kid and that
students are still making today. Instead of wasting paper and time on
something not so educational, these paper quizzers get students learning
with a game in which they are probably already familiar.

Here is how to assemble one (Example shown may not be the same
quizzer you are making, but the assembly is the same.);

1) Cut it out on the black lines.

2) Fold it with one corner touching the other with the text on the outside.

How to play the "Get to Know You" paper quizzer:
- In pairs, Student A holds his/her quizzer while Student B picks a picture
on one of the four outside petals and says its name.
- If it is school, for example, Student A spells each letter while pinching
and pulling the four petals in and out (S - C - H - O - O - L).
- When Student A stops at the last letter, Student B picks one of the
four numbers inside the quizzer. Student A does the same method but
counts up until the number that Student B chose.
- Student B picks another number. Student A opens that number's flap
and reads the question to Student B. Student B answers and students A
tries to remember the information.
- The two students change roles and continue playing. After 5 minutes or
so, have students choose a different partner. Continue this until students
have gotten to know several other students.
- Call students together. Pick a student and ask questions about that
student - "Name? Favorite color? Favorite food?" Then see how much
information the students can recall about that student.
