August 24, 1608, one the most important day in the history of India, at the port

of Surat The British East India Company landed in the Indian subcontinent as
traders in spices, silk, cotton, indigo dye, tea and opium. This day marked the
start of 200 years.
200 years of ruthless exploitation,200 years of stagnation, 200 years of poverty
and backwardness,200 years of massive suffering, stress and torcher.

It gives me great pleasure to present myself on the eve of the 74th
Independence Day. August 15 fills us with the excitement of unfurling the
tricolour, taking part in celebrations and listening to patriotic songs. On this
day, the youth of India should feel the special pride of being citizens of a free
nation. We gratefully remember our freedom fighters and martyrs whose
sacrifices have enabled us to live in an independent nation.

The ethos of our freedom struggle forms the foundation of modern India. Our
visionary leaders brought together a diversity of world views to forge a
common national spirit. They were committed to the cause of liberating Bharat
Mata from oppressive foreign rule and securing the future of her children.
Their thoughts and actions shaped the identity of India as a modern nation.

We are fortunate that Mahatma Gandhi became the guiding light of our
freedom movement. As much a saint as a political leader, he was a
phenomenon that could have happened only in India. Troubled by social strife,
economic problems, and climate change, the world seeks relief in Gandhiji's
teachings. His quest for equality and justice is the mantra for our Republic.

From Dr.Abhedakar's motivation against caste based discrimination to Sardar
Patel's example of unification. From Bhagat Singh's heroic acts of socialism to
Tilak's power of journalism India’s freedom witnessed an overwhelming
participation of people throughout the country. Thousands of men and women
fought together against atrocities of the British Raj. While many selflessly gave
their lives to protect the dignity of their motherland, others got injured and
embraced imprisonment. The amount of pain, hardships, and opposite they
have endured cannot be put into words. The generations after them will
always be indebted to them for their selfless sacrifices and hard work. Today
people fight for everything they stood against. We must come together to not
let communal hatred come between and live up to the Indian dream of these
freedom fighters if truly honour their sacrifices and memory.

India's journey has been marked by significant milestones and reforms that
enabled it to achieve substantial progress in many areas including rise in
income levels, growth, literacy, life expectancy and a wide variety of other
economic indicators. As India commemorates 73 glorious years as an
independent nation, with some of the significant achievements of our
economy over the years. GDP has risen from Rs 2,939 billion during 1950-51 to
₹146 trillion in 2020-21. While the Youth playing a major role in the numbers.

Youth is the most important and dynamic segment of the population in any
country. Undoubtedly today’s young are tomorrow’s innovators, creators,
builders and leaders. But they need the required support in terms of good
health, education, training and opportunities to transform the future. The
economic trigger happens when a country has more hands to work available
than more mouths to feed.
"Knowledge and unity speaks a lot rather than experience." Youth has
capability and power to bring a change at the same time create a positive
influence on their fellow young people. Youth can definitely make their
beautiful land flourish and shine in success through their thinking and outlook.
