PHILIPPINE POLITICS

AND GOVERNANCE
Quarter 1, Week 2-3
POLITICAL IDEOLOGIES

Name: Richelyn G. Mabaylan

Grade & Section: 12 HUMSS A
Subject Teacher: Roslyn Doliente
Activity No.2: Ideolohiya Mo! Plataporma Mo!
Direction: Interview a politician in your barangay or municipality. Ask him/her the
following: (a) his/her advocacies, (b) the things he/she wish to change in your community, (c)
his/her platforms, and other administration-related questions.
I and my friends, Patricia and Paulin, went to Barangay Hall of Sto. Rosario to look for available
politicians to interview. When we arrived at the brgy.hall, we entered and greeted good
afternoon. Kagawad Margie Gabato came out of the session hall and I decided to approach her
to ask for permission if I could interview her. She said yes since she was not doing anything and
she wasn’t busy either.
And I started asking questions.
Question #1: What are your advocacies?
Kagawad Margie replied: “As for me, I am a committee on health, I advocate health awareness.
So, we must let the people know that health is wealth. Now that there is a vaccine, we must
encourage them, the youth, elders, and about 5 years old above to get vaccinated for our
protection.”
Question #2: What are the things you want to change in our community?
Kagawad Margie replied: “Let’s encourage youth, people, to avoid those vices, particularly
drugs. So, we need to encourage them to engage in sports so that they can enjoy themselves
and not focus on bad habits or things. Then teenage pregnancy, let’s give our youth an
additional knowledge to avoid that problem. We can give them symposium where they can
gather examples.”
Question #3: What are your platforms?
Kagawad Margie replied: “Unity of our people without conflict. For example, we will do
activities similar to the SKs who do sports activities. In addition to senior citizens, PWDs, single
parents, LGBTQ, fishermen, drivers and others, we must encourage them to join the activities so
that there is unity and for our community to grow.”

I also asked additional questions like:

-Do you agree with SAME SEX MARRIAGE? And she replied NO.
-Do you agree with ABORTION? And she replied NO.
-Do you agree with DEATH PENALTY? And she replied NO.
-Do you agree with DIVORCE? And she replied NO.
We ended our interview by thanking them for their time and effort in answering our questions.

Now, I can conclude that Kagawad Margie Gabato is a liberated and conservative person based
from the responses that I’ve received.
