1. PURPOSE
To establish a system procedure:
 To identify the environmental aspects & to assess its impacts of all the activities considering all
services on a continual basis to decide their significance.
 To control the significant environmental impact and to keep the information up-to-date.

2. SCOPE
Applicable to all activities and services of Reliable Machinery Rentals.

3. REFERENCE

4. DEFINITIONS
 Environment
Surroundings in which an organization operates, including air, water, land, natural resources,
flora, fauna, humans, and their interrelation.
 Environmental aspect
Element of an organization’s activities or products or services that can interact with the
environment.
 Environmental impact
Any change to the environment, whether adverse or beneficial, wholly or partially resulting
from an organization’s environmental aspects.
 Environmental management system (EMS)
Part of an organization’s management system used to develop and implement its
environmental policy and manage its environmental aspects.
 Interested party
o Person or group concerned with or affected by the environmental performance of an
organization.
o Interested parties (Employees, contractors, legal enforcement authorities, customers,
suppliers and government authorities
o ).
 EAIAC: Environment aspect and impact assessment committee.
 EMP: Environment management program.

5. RESPONSIBILITY
 Environment aspect and impact assessment committee (EAIAC) is responsible for identifying
the environmental aspects and its impacts in their respective areas.
 Environment aspect and impact assessment committee consists of s
 elected project engineers from various disciplines, HSE coordinator / Officer, and workmen
representative. This committee will be constituted by MR and the same will be responsible for
initial assessment and future reviews, if needed.
 In case of any change in the activity and service in the organization, environment aspect and

impact assessment will be freshly conducted and the same will be amended, if found
necessary.
6. PROCEDURE

Sr. No Activity Responsibility


6.1. Identify all activities involved in Reliable Machinery Rentals EAIAC
under the various Departments / Functions.
6.2  List down all operations, activities or services and EAIAC
categorize them based on commonalities to avoid
repetition while carrying our AIA.
 Collect information about various environment aspects
and their significant impacts related to activities and
services during normal / abnormal operations &
emergency situations.
 Identify all the environment aspects in the routine and
non-routine activities.
6.3. Evaluate the environmental impacts of all the aspects, in EAIAC
terms of
a. Emissions to air
b. Liquid discharge to land and water bodies
c. Solid waste disposed to landfills
d. Use of raw materials and natural resources
e. Noise and vibration
f. Consumption of non-renewable energy
g. Energy emitted e.g. heat, radiation
h. Changes to the physical attributes of the environment:
Size, shape, color and appearance
6.4. Compile and validate the information during site visit EAIAC
6.5. Consider any environment incidents, potential emergency EAIAC
situations while reviewing the environmental aspects and its
impact.
6.6. The criteria for evaluation of each impact is ---- EAIAC
S – Severity of occurrence
F – Frequency of occurrence
6.7. The environment impact ratings shall be achieved utilizing EAIAC
following values for the above five criteria (i.e. S, F)
6.8. Classify the impact as per rating as below

6.9. Impact Rating = S x F EAIAC

6.10. This value will help in identifying the significant aspects. EAIAC
Low 1-10
Medium 11-15
High 16-25
6.11. Control measures shall be identified to reduce the impacts on EAIAC / PM/ PE
the environment for all the activities / processes / services.
Applicable legal and other requirements should be addressed
in the control measures.
6.12. All the aspects resulting in high or medium impact ratings shall EAIAC / PM/ PE
be considered as significant aspects.
All the significant aspects, as far as possible, shall have
control procedures to eliminate, mitigate, and control of
confine the impact.
6.13. Aspects, which have specific legal requirements, shall be EAIAC
identified as “Significant Aspect”.
6.14. High significant aspects can be selected as input for MR / HSE Manager /
developing the environment management Programme(s). EAIAC
6.15. Environmental aspect / impact register shall be reviewed MR / HSE Manager /
whenever there is any new knowledge regarding EAIAC
environmental impacts or in case of any amendments to
applicable legislative or other requirements or after the
implementation of environment management Programme(s).
