The document summarizes research on the use of molecular hydrogen as a potential treatment for various musculoskeletal disorders. Studies show that hydrogen reduced cerebral infarction in rats and may have antioxidant effects. However, the evidence for hydrogen's efficacy in treating musculoskeletal conditions is limited, as there are few clinical studies and most are case reports or prospective studies, rather than controlled trials. More research is needed to determine if hydrogen administration can effectively treat musculoskeletal disorders.

ECOR-13-00918.pdf (hkccf.org.hk) II. SUMMARY The smallest molecule that can pass through a cell membrane is hydrogen. Molecular hydrogen dramatically decreased cerebral infarction in rats following left middle cerebral artery closure, according to research by Ohsawa & colleagues. The causes were attributed to the antioxidant characteristics of molecular hydrogen, which they hypothesized to be a particular antioxidant, removing the damaging molecules only when necessary. Atopic dermatitis, cancer, and other diseases have all been the subject of animal investigations. Human clinical trials have recently been carried out for Hydrogen-enriched water and hydrogen gas have been studied for their effects in numerous disorders, including psoriasis, psoriasis-related arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, neurological diseases, ischemia and reperfusion injury, and various forms of cancer. Studies on musculoskeletal problems, however, are limited so on this study they make an effort to review hydrogen's clinical role in treating numerous musculoskeletal problems. Papers were searched in PUBMED that includes case reports, restrospective studies and controlled clinical trisals using the Boolean search operators and they only get studies conducted on humans about muscuskeletal conditions. There aren't many studies on the application of hydrogen molecules to the management of musculoskeletal disorders. Several studies are case reports or prospective studies. Consequently, the data that points to the utilization of hydrogen as management for musculoskeletal disorders is fairly limited. In conclusion, on this study I understand that among the various ailments, hydrogen exhibits promise as an additional therapy for psoriatic and early rheumatoid arthritis. However, there is little evidence to back up its efficacy. Therefore, more research is necessary to determine whether hydrogen administration may be used to treat musculoskeletal conditions.
III. NURSING IMPLICATIONS
As a nursing student, reading and understanding this journal is very helpful to me as I go on our clinical exposure. This gave insight on how to properly manage patients with a musculoskeletal conditions like sprains and arthritis and knowing the result of this study is helpful for me to just stay in what I have learned during the lectures on how to manage some musculoskeletal conditions like the RICE method as the use of hydrogen molecules needs further studies. As nurses are given that they are typically the last person to verify that the prescription has been prescribed and administered appropriately, nurses have a special role and duty in the administration of medications so journals like these are very important for me a student nurse.
IV. LEARNING INSIGHTS
I find this journal amazing and enlightening and also a refresher of the different concepts about musculoskeletal conditions. On this paper, I have learned that there are different muscoloskeletal conditions that can be treated by hydrogen-rich water and hydrogen gas like the early rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis though results in the other types of musculoskeletal conditions are still low and needs further studies. Therefore, I’ve understand that as a student nurse, I also need to do more readings about the management and trends in musculoskeletal conditions.
