I am directed to rcfer to the State Government's letter no. FCA/1980/5073-5121-5163/2570

cautious and lower the speed to prevent injury/mortality of wild aninals.
(x) Felling of trees on the forest land being diverted shall be reduced to the bare minimum and
the trees should be felled under strict supervision of the State Forest Department.

(xi) Sufficient firewood, preferably the alternate fuel shall be provided by the User Agency to
the labourers after purchasing the same from the State Forest Department or the Forest
Development Corporation or any other legal source of alternate fuel.
Avenue plantation on both sides of the road will be undertaken by the project proponent as

per the guidelines of the Indian Road Congress. The user agency shall submit design of road
widening with provisions of at least 2-3 rows of long rotation indigenous trees, as per
either side

(xii) The User Agency shall ensure that no damage is caused to the wildlife avaifable in the area
because of this project.
(xiv) The boundary of the forest land being diverted shall be demarcated on ground at the project

coordinates, forward and backward bearings and distance from adjoining pillars etc.

The forest land shall not be used for any purpose other than that specified in the proposal.

farmers on the farm lands adjoining the proposed road widening to take up plantations of
suitable and favoured agro-forestry tree species on their farm lands in addition to the avenue
of
plantation that is a part of the project. This may be done by entering into some kind
agreement with the farm owners. The user agency will bear the cost of raising such
plantation. This will help in countering the adverse impact of smoke, dust and noise
pollution in the area to a great cxtent. The user agency will submit an undertaking to this
effct.
(xvii) Any other condition that the Chief Conservator of Forests(Central), Northern Regiona!
Office, Chandigarh or the State Government of Punjab may impose from time to time for
protection and improvement of flora and fauna in the forest area.
