Developing

Student-Led
Action

Susan Powers PYPteachingtools.com

Hello again!

I truly appreciate your following and I’m excited to share

this resource with you. It’s like a sneak peak before the
article is published on my blog! 

I am only too aware of how we juggle all the things in our

classrooms and then, to feel we have to inspire the kids
to create their own action plans on top of everything
else, seems like it can all get just too much.

My wish is that this resource , aligned with the blog

article, Developing Student-Led Action in the IB PYP, will
help you to clarify the process of developing student-led
action and give your kiddos a few ideas that they will feel
confident about sharing for bringing positive change to
themselves, their community and even the world.

Cheers to encouraging your students to become their own

superheroes!

All my best,

P.S. I’ve included UK and USA spelling and the graphic organisers are
differentiated to suit all levels.

Suggestions for Using the Recording Sheets

•The action plan, uses the acronym

P.L.A.N for recording the children’s
thinking, as they progress through
planning their action. It leads to
action steps to follow through and
ends with a reflection.

•The action tracker acts as a goal setting and progress

tracking record. The children will choose to set personal,
community and/or global action goals. They can then use
the tracker to follow and reflect on their streak of
progress.
ACTIONPLAN
