SUBJECT:MATHEMATICS DATE:24.06.2020
CLASS: IV
CHAPTER:DIVISION
Division by 10 , 100 , 1000
• Division by 10
In such divisions , the digit at ones place of dividend forms the remainder and the
remaining digits form the quotient.
Ex – 453 ÷10
Quotient = 45 , remainder = 3
We observe the same result when we actually divide.

Q = 45
R=3
• Division by 100
In this case, the number formed by the digits at the ones and tens place of dividend
become the remainder and remaining digits become the quotient.
Ex – 1632 ÷ 100
Quotient = 16, remainder = 32
We observe the same result when we actually divide.
Q = 16
R = 32
• Division by 1000
In this case, the number formed by the digits at the ones, tens and hundreds place of
dividend become the remainder and remaining digits become the quotient.
Ex – 54327 ÷1000
Quotient = 54, remainder = 327
We observe the same result when we actually divide.

Q = 54
R = 327
