1. Compare and contrast modern science and philosophy of science.

Philosophy and science are two studies and domains. Philosophy came first and
provided as the basis for science, which was originally known as natural philosophy.
Both studies have various branches or fields of study and make use of reasoning,
questioning, and analysis. The fundamental distinction is in how they work and treat
knowledge. Science is concerned with natural occurrences, but philosophy seeks to
comprehend the nature of man, existence, and the relationship that exists between
the two ideas. "Science" is derived from the Latin term "scientia," whereas
"philosophy" is derived from the Greek "philosophia." Another similarity between the
two studies is that they both attempt to explain and solve problems. Philosophy
achieves this through logical arguments, whereas science does so through empirical
data.

What is scientific method? Enumerate the steps in the scientific method.

The scientific method is the process of determining facts objectively through testing
and experimentation. Generating an observation, developing a hypothesis, making a
prediction, carrying out an experiment, and lastly analyzing the findings is the
fundamental procedure. The scientific method's concepts may be applied in a variety
of fields, including scientific study, business, and technology.

Steps of the scientific method

The scientific method utilizes a set of processes to establish facts or create
knowledge. The general procedure is well established, but the specifics of each step
may vary based on what is being inspected and who is doing it. The scientific
approach can only address questions that can be verified or dis-proven by testing.

Make an observation or ask a question

The first step is to observe something that you would like to learn about or ask a
question that you would like answered. These can be specific or general.

Gather background information

This involves doing research into what is already known about the topic. This can
also involve finding if anyone has already asked the same question

Create a hypothesis

A hypothesis is an explanation for the observation or question. If proven later, it can

become a fact.

Create a prediction and perform a test

Create a testable prediction based on the hypothesis. The test should establish a
noticeable change that can be measured or observed using empirical analysis.
Analyze the results and draw a conclusion

Use the metrics established before the test see if the results match the prediction.

Share the conclusion or decide what question to ask next:

Document the results of your experiment. By sharing the results with others, you also
increase the total body of knowledge available.

3. What are the limitation of science?

4. What do you think is the role of science and technology in our society today?
Science and technology activities are defined as the discovery of new natural laws
and principles, as well as the development of new information, which is subsequently
used in society today. The essence of how science and technology contribute to
society is the discovery of new knowledge and the use of that knowledge to improve
human lives and address societal problem.
