PHYSICS CLASS EXERCISE 2

1.

Distance Tape Measure

.

Time Stop Watch

Speed = Distance / Time

This is because the average speed is found over the whole journey but
the top speed is the highest speed the lorry reaches during the journey. Since
the lorry travels at different speeds during the journey , the average will be less
than the top speed.
Time = 20 minutes = 20/60 = 1/3

Distance = Speed x Time

= 66 X 1/3
= 22km

Area of Triangle = 15 x 5 x 1/2

= 75 x 1/2
= 37.5

37.5
3.

Acceleration is rate of change in velocity in a given time . The symbol is m/s2.

m= meters . s = seconds

Area of triangle = 60 x 25 x 1/2

= 30 x 25
=750 750m

Acceleration = Final Speed - Initial Speed / Time

In finding the time, with acceleration of 0.60 m/s2, = (30 m/s - 0 m/s)/50
Acceleration = Final Speed - Initial Speed / Time = 30 / 50
0.60m/s2 = (30-0)/Time = 0.60 m/s 2
Time = (30-0)/0.60
Time = 30/0.60
Time = 50 seconds
